Audrey gifted this bodice to her lifelong friend Tanja Star-Busmann. Tanja fondly recalled one of the first occasions Audrey gifted her clothes as she prepared to d🐻epart to New York to star in the Broadway production of 'Gigi' in 1951: 'Audrey revised he💃r wardrobe for the trip and gave me some clothes she no longer needed, and this became something of a fabulous tradition!' . Hubert de Givenchy recounted a conversation with Audrey: "She told me something so touching that I will always remember it. She said "When I wear a white blouse or little suit that you create for me I have the feeling of being protected by that blouse or suit - and this protection is very important to me."
