3 volumes, folio (391 x 295mm.), 504 hand-coloured engraved plates by Delorme, J. Furreau, P. Galland and A. Mignot, original paper wrappers bound in at end of volumes 2 and 3, contemporary red half morocco, top edges gilt, others uncut, some light spotting, inkstamps on verso of some plates
Thi✨s set contains the usual number of plates. Jules Pierre Fourreau (1844-1871), was a French botanist, member of the Linnaean society, alongside fellow botanist and taxonomist Alexis Jordan (1814-1897), whom Fourreau served as assistant at the start of his career.
