The inscription on the reverse of the mount reads 'For Mark Jared; with many wishes for his happiness, and as a🌱 souvenir of his first – and vꦗery comfortable – journey to France, in 1966 – Melitta.' It is in the hand of Melitta Ninaud, the wife of Georges Ninaud. The latter was the office manager at Magnum Photos during the 1950s.
