Containing the constitution of Oregon, as approved by the people first in 1857. The constitution was submitted to the senate on 5 April 1858, and Oregon was admitted as a state on 14 February 1859. Notably, Article II prohibits Black, Chinese, and mixed–race citizens from voting, and Section 8 of Article XV states that Chinese immigrants "not a resident of this State at the time of the adoption of this constitution, s🎃hall ever hold any real estate or mining claim, or work any mining claim therein." The suffrage exclusion was not removed until 1928, despite having b😼een voided by the Fifteenth Amendment for over forty years.
