FEYNMAN'S COPY OF SLATEಌR'S "INTRODUCꦯTION TO CHEMICAL PHYSICS", A GIFT TO FEYNMAN FROM HIS CHILDHOOD SWEETHEART AND FIRST WIFE, ARLINE GREENBAUM ("PUTZIE")
Feynman would have acquired thi🐓s textbook for use either in his senior year at MIT or for the start of his PhD studies at Princeton in 1939. The handwritten inscription indicates this was a gift to him from his high school sweetheart and later wife Arline, whom he called by a secret pet-name, "Putzie."
Thi🅘s book provides a unique snapshot in both Feynman's professional and personal life, a moment in time before his groundbreaking work in Los Alamos and the tragic loss of Arline to tuberculosis at the age of 25.
