We are grateful to Prof. Marco Tanzi for endorsing the attribution to Altobello Melone and dating the painting to circa 1510-1515, following inspection of digital images. This head of Christ can be compared to that in Melone's Lamentation, executed in circa 1511, today in the Pinacoteca di Brera (inv. no. 2144).1
