A German Parcel-Gilt Silver Torah Shield, Franz Zimmerman, Glogau (Silesia, now Polish), circa 1800


with arched top and beaded border, chased with the Tablets above a representation of Mount Sinai with rocks and plants, the columns chased with spiraled grapevine, fitted with one gilt reversible portion plaque, struck with maker, date letter incuse A, and Prussian control mark of circa 1810)

Sotheby's, New York, December 6th and 7th 1984, lot 414, where they note Jewish silver from this town is rare. 
The town of Golgau in Silesia was captured by Prussia in 1741.  In 1791, the town had 1,791 Jews, the second-largest Jewish population in Silesia, after only Breslau.
