worn on the News Of The World Tour, May 1978
the scarlet sequin encrusted long sleeved short-legged one piece stage suit slashed to the waist, the neckline, hems of the brief shorts and cuffs hand-stitched inside with a band of black elastic, the sequins applied to a ground of red stretch cotton, unlabelled; accompanied by the original sales invoice from the maker, Natasha Korni✱lof (or Korniloff), stamped in black at the top with maker’s details: ‘Natasha Kornilof, … Greenwich, SE10’ and inscribed in black ballpoint pen with the date: ‘3 May ‘78’, for making three stage costumes including ‘one red short leg sequin tights - £70’ and corresponding envelope

This short-legged stage suit was a late addition to Freddie’s wardrobe for the News Of The World t﷽our as a partner to his full-length silver sequin catsuit (lot 55). It is said to have largely been worn൲ by Freddie for the encore.
