rectangular with rounded edges, the lid and base painted with brightly coloured stylised leaves and flowerheads on a pale cream, green and blue grounds, the borders with cloison squares, spirals and wreath motifs, the thumbpiece with mounted green cabochon hardstone, apparently unmarked, with later Soviet marks
