A Roman Marble Portrait of a Woman
Antonine Period, circa mid 2nd Century A.D.
with full lips and almond-shaped eyes, her hair entirely plaited, parted above the forehead, drawn back behind the ears and up from the nape of the neck into a turban on the crown; the facial features probably recut in modern times.
Height 23 cm.
