The Patek Philippe Nautilus is an icon for the brand and was designed by the masterful Gerald Genta. Marking a true inflection point for stainless steel, its case exhibited all the fine beveling, brushing, and polishing that Patek is capable of. Drawing inspiration from the portholes on a ship, the distinctive and complex bezel shape is perhaps one of the most complex pieces of steel to have ever be𒁃en fitted to a production Patek Philippe reference, and put those finishing techniques on full display for the wearer to appreciate.
The reference 5711 stays true to the original design of the watch and remains an elegant and sporting i🐼con in the cannon of modern Patek Philippe. The stainless steel 5711 was discontinued in spectacular fashion in 2021, and as such has remained sought after by collectors. The present watch comes from the personal collection of Sylvester Stallone who has worn and enjoyed the watch since purchasing it new in 2019. Coꦗmplete with its original box and Certificate of Origin made out to him, his ownership history is an added element of provenance that separates this from other 5711’s in the market.
