A group of first editions, sumptuously rebound
All of the volume in the present lot, with the exception of Eightieth Birthday Tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, are bound by Bayntun-Riviere. Robert Riviere founded his now-iconic bindery in Bath in 1𒁃829, and in 1894, George Bayntun followed suit. Thus Bayntun-Riviere was born, and is now the last of the great Victorian trade binderies still in operation.
