A Roman Marble Janiform Herm Bust ꦍof Silenus and a Satyr
circa 2nd Century A.D.
Silenus with full beard, parted lips, furrowed brow, and balding pate, the satyr with parted lips, prominent chin, and deeply drilled hair swept up above the forehead, both heads surmounted by clusters of berries and ivy leaves, the ends of their fillets falling onto the shoulders; no restorations.
Height 18 cm.
