Diana Widmaier Picasso 

This chapter reveals a rare set of furniture by Jean Garçon from a Parisian flat furnished by the decorator Martine Dufour in the 1970s. Made of stainless steel sheets, this furniture with its minimalist lines is emblematic of the aesthetic research of this period. Jean Garçon's creations were placed in prestigious interiors such as that of Karl Lagerfeld on rue de l'Université in Paris. The designer's furniture blends in with Art Deco furniture and the creations of François-Xavier Lalanne with great taste.

The sale will highlight the timeless modernity of the great masters of Art Deco. Notable works include the rediscovery of a desk by Marcel Coard made for the collector André Lefèvre, two benches by Paul Dupré-Lafon, bottles by the glassmaker Maurice Marinot from the former collection of Félix Marcilhac, a geometric composition by Gustave Miklos and a rare rose quartz lamp by Jean-Michel Frank.

Masters of Art Déco

Nearly fifty works by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne from private French and international collections are included in the sale. Among the key lots are several of the couple's major creations intended to populate parks and gardens: from Claude's oversized apple to François-Xavier's unique floating duck (to be exhibited at the Château de Versailles in 2021), as well as a rare set of five wild geese in patinated bronze. Lastly, a Crocodile armchair, an iconic work by Claude Lalanne, is worth noting.

The art historian shared her choices through the 193 creations of the greatest designers of the 20th and 21st centuries, gathered in this sale. The sale highlights the creations of major designers from the last century to today: from Émile Gallé to Marc Newson, including Pierre Chareau, Diego Giacometti, Charlotte Perriand and Martin Szekely.&nbsp; Finally, an important chapter will be presented, bringing together for the first time nearly fifty works by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne from private French and international collections.
