S otheby’s Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art online auction titled “BREATHLESS” presents a curated selection of works by emerging and established artists from the Southeast Asian region. Highlights of the sale include works byꦰ Contemporary names like Ronald Ventura, Christine Ay Tjoe, Natee Utarit, Ronson Culibrina, as well as pieces by artists practicing in the Modern era such as Cheong Soo Pieng, Arie Smit, Fernando Amorsolo and Rusli. The auction’s title was derived from a work by Hermon Chong, who was inspired by the bold visual style of the Jean-Luc Godard 1960 film.
