The present work depicts Prince Charles, later Charles II, and Jame🍌s, Duke of York, later James II, holding hands beside their sister, Mary. It derives from the portrait by Van Dyck in the Royal Collection, which was painted in 1635 for Queen Henrietta Maria.&n𓆏bsp;
