Catalogue Note

According to Mary Landa, Andrew Wyeth recalls working on this watercolor at Eight Bells, his father N.C.'s home in Port Clyde, Maine, with Peter Hurd.  Hurd had trouble doing foregrounds so Wyeth painted the foreground while Hurd painted the background.
