Condition
Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original. There are more traces of luminous red and orange in the original and the background tends more towards ivory white. The blue in the catalogue illustration also fails to convey the metallic nature of the paint used in the original.
Condition: This work is in very good condition. Executed on white wove paper and securely hinged to the backing board in places on the reverse. There is slight undulation and lifting to the sheet. There is a very faint vertical rub mark towards the bottom left of the sheet. There is a handling mark at the top right extreme edge, probably inherent to the artist's working process. There is a small water mark towards the top extreme edge and a few specs of dirt adhering to the surface of the red paint on the left hand side of the composition.
