Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the tonality of the brown areas tends more towards a deep purple, particularly in the background. Condition: This work is in good condition. There is very slight wear along the lower extreme edge and several scuff marks towards the lower edge. There are two small spots of paint loss, one to the right of the centre of the lower edge and the other to the tip of the figure's nose. There are several tiny spots of paint loss throughout the composition only visible upon close inspection. There is a light horizontal scratch to the right of the figure's nose. There are faint spots of surface dust throughout. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.
