Condition
There are remnants of old paint in some of the crevices. The head is, of course, fragmentary and as a result the edges are rough. It has been drilled and mounted on a modern base.

This terracotta head of man features broad proportions of the face, serious expression, and beard that suggest he was modelled after the ancient Farnese Hercules, a popular 16th century Italian subject.
