STRUCTURE Original canvas. PAINT SURFACE The painting is in good original condition. There is some cracquelure consistent with age. There is a protective lining visible to the extreme top of the canvas. There is some white surface dirt to the right edge of the canvas, partially covered by the frame, which could easily be cleaned off. ULTRAVIOLET Ultraviolet light reveals that no repair work or re-touching has been carried out. FRAME Held in an ornate gilt wood frame.
