Original canvas.
PAINT SURFACE
The paint surface appears to be in excellent condition. There is a horizontal stretcher mark which is just visible on close inspection along the top of the canvas consistent with its age.
ULTRAVIOLET
Ultraviolet light reveals scattered re-touchings, mainly in the sky and bottom left.
FRAME
Held in an ornate gilt wood frame.
