Description

barely draped and kneeling under the weight, the rings engraved with the names of the Zodiac and degree scales, upon a conforming gilt bronze base applied with reliefs of Saturn and Jupiter and two armorial shields surrounded by plumes and with engraved monograms, strapwork reserves applied to the base.

Condition

Wear, in areas, to gilding. Good, old casting flaws and cracks including: his left leg above knee (crack), right lower leg and left side of torso, lower right arm, upper left arm. Some pins to sphere are lacking. Some wear and pitting to base. Coats of arms engraved later. Overall lovely color, very nicely done.
