Catalogue Note
The present lot is a bronze reduction of the 1st century BC marble figure of Venus in the Uffizi, Florence. Various sculptors, after 1638 when it was first recorded in the Villa Medici, Rome, reproduced this composition with some variations. Massimiliano Soldani Benzi was well known for his highly finished casts.
