Catalogue Note

Urwerk SA was launched in 1997. The name was divised from combining the two words UR with WERK.

UR - the city where 6000 years ago the people used the shadows cast from gaint obelisks to measure the passage of time and they also created the separation of the year into 12 units, these divisions being the forerunner to the modern calender we use today.

Werk - This is the German word to mean to work, create, evole, shape, forge and to arouse emotions.

The creative geniuses behind the Urwerk 103.03, Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei, developed an innovative time-telling machine that evades horological definition. The satellite hour display reveals the creative mechanism, while the control board allows the wearer to manually correct the movement's precision.  The watch's curved areodynamic form gains its inspiration from a stealth jet and allows the wearer to view the time clearly from the side or above.

This watch was produced in a limited edition of only 25 pieces, the current example is number 3.
