Catalogue Note
The present work was commissioned from Salvador Dali by the present owner in 1965 as a potential image to be made into a circular puzzle. Katie and Robert Lewin founded the company Springbok editions in the early 1960’s to produce and market high quality puzzles. Mrs. Katie Lewin was the President and chose the designs by visiting museums and galleries to find works of art that they would reproduce as puzzles in a limited edition. The puzzles were made from paintings by artist such as Picasso, Della Robbia and, probably most famously, Jackson Pollock, whose work Convergence was 🍌billedꦗ as the world's most difficult jigsaw puzzle.
