Apart from a scuff mark and wears to the left foot, to the base, to the left buttocks of the figure and to the right thigh, this work is in good condition.

Cette oeuvre a été réalisée pour orner le parc de Colpach de Monsieur Emile Mayrisch, chef d'industrie et philanthrope luxembourgeois, où se trouvaient également la Flore de Maillol et le Centaure mourant de Bourdelle.
Signed 'C. Despiau' on the base; stamped with the foundry mark 'Valsuani cire perdue' on the base, bronze. Conceived in 1921-1929.
