There are five tears around the folds of the card dust jacket, one of which has a small associated loss. There are a few dirt marks on the exposed part of the upper and lower dust jacket flaps. Each plate has its associated tracing paper jacket with the title, which all have a few undulations due to humidity. The lower right corner of the dust jacket to the plate entitled "Electricité" has a small flattened crease. There is a 1cm horizontal band of light staining at the upper and lower edges of the front page of the introduction. The prints are in very good condition.

A la demande de la Compagnie Parisienne de distribution de l'électricité, Man Ray réalise en 1931 un portfolio limité à 500 exemplaires composé de rayographes et de photomontages. Il présente l'électricité à travers ses différentes actions, dans le monde, la ville, la maison en montrant les objets électriques eux-même ou en matérialisant les effets de l'électricité comme le poulet cuit. Sa technique même confère à cette publicité une grande poésie.
