The articulated band set at intervals with 4 marquise-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 6.00 carats, outlined by calibré-cut emeralds and further by buff-top calibré-cut onyxes, flanked by rows of 30 smaller marquise-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 7.00 carats, within an openwork border of 112 French-cut diamonds and numerous small round and single-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 13.00 carats, mounted in platinum, length 7 1/8 inches, made by Oscar Heyman & Bros., Inc.
Condition
In good condition and very well made. The engraved laurel leaf and acanthus motifs on the sides are only very gently worn. Stamped with Pat. Feb. 2 - 1916 near the tongue. The tongue numbered (partially legible, possibly 10820). The four large marquise-cut diamonds are approximately (starting from the female end of the clasp): F-G color, SI-I clarity; G-H color, VS clarity; F-G color, VS-SI clarity; and I-J color, VS clarity. The remaining diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. The emeralds are medium to medium-deep slightly bluish green and of good clarity. The onyx tablets remain in good condition. Fitted with a safety clasp. A wonderfully attractive piece.
