Catalogue Note
Although unsigned, the present brooches are very similar to the paisley-shaped leaf clips illustrated by Franco Cologni and Eric Nussbaum in Platinum by Cartier, Triumphs of the Jewelers' Art, p. 185. The two illustrated clips, made by Cartier in 1945 and 1947 respectively, are similarly made of gold wire that radiates as veins from a central diamond motif within borders of braided gold.
