Description
- Ansel Adams
- 'tenaya canyon, washington column - half dome, from stoneman bridge'
warm-toned, triple-mounted, signed 'Adams' by the photographer in pencil on the underlying mount, signed 'Ansel E. Adams' and titled by him in ink on the reverse, circa 1924
Condition
This early print, on matte-surface paper, is in generally excellent condition. It is triple-mounted--first onto cream paper, then to black paper, and finally to a larger mount, likely a Bushnell cream thin card with a stipple texture. Our dating of this print is based on the photographer's handwriting and on another photograph that has been mounted identically and dated 1924, in the Ansel Adams archive at the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson.
