Catalogue Note

Henry Wessel was raised in New Jersey in a hous🦄e that was attached to his moth📖er's real estate office.  He made these photographs in and around Richmond, California, between 1990 and 1992. Wessel writes,

'Most photographs of houses in a real estate office have a similar shape.  Each picture is a platform for hundreds of discrete facts that work in accord toward a specific and unique meaning' (Real Estate Photographs, introduction).
