Condition

STRUCTURE: Relined. SURFACE: Surface appears to be in good stable condition and clean. The canvas has rubbed against the frame along the top edge. UV LIGHT: Under UV Light there are fine flecked retouchings which appear throughout the canvas in the foliage and the woodland. Stronger restoration appears around the hands and on the arms and back of the sitter. Other retouchings appear on the dress of the sitter and more fine retouchings to her face and hair. FRAME: Contained in a good plaster and wood gilt frame with vine and leaf decorations (restored and slightly damaged). COLOUR COMPOSITION: The original is not as light as the catalogue illustration suggests . The original colours have warmer tones.
