STRUCTURE: Unlined. SURFACE: The surface appears stable although there are one or two areas of lifting paint on the plate, on the figurine in the foreground and black box on the right hand side. The stretcher line is visible along the top edge. The canvas has rubbed against the frame on the edges and there are a few paint losses in the top left and top right corners. UV LIGHT: Under UV, some retouchings appear along the lower left hand edge and a few minor spots elsewhere. FRAME: Contained in a plain gilt and painted wood frame. COLOUR COMPARISON: The original colours are not as light as the catalogue illustration suggests.
