Colors are bright and fresh, overall lightstruck, brown pindot at upper left edge above roof of house.

Catalogue Note
After the first World War, Lhermitte hiked through Mont Saint-Père and the surrounding villages severely damaged by the fighting. In the present work the artist shows the ruined state of the church of Chartèves.
