There are several small artist's pinhole running down the centre and lower left corner of the work , these were probably made by the artist during the creation of the work. The work has been scuffed towards the upper and lower left edge, and there is an indentation towards the lower right edge. There is an area of craquelure withn the cat and a minor scratch to the centre of the lower edge. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no evidence of retouching.
