There are horizontal and vertical scratches within the upper left corner. There are two horizontal scratches (the first: approximately 28cm; the second: approximately 30cm) towards the upper edge of the work. The work has been chipped towards the upper left edge and the lower left corner has been chipped and dented. There are other various minor scuffs and chips to the work. The surface of the work is dirty and would benefit from a professional clean. Held in a pale, gilt wood and plaster frame. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouching to the second of the uppermost scratches.
