Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly warmer and richer, with the pale green tending towards deep green in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. It is hinged to the backing board in the top two corners. There are four artist's pinholes, one towards each corner. There is a pinsized spot of foxing towards the lower centre of the left-hand edge. There is an extremely small, light media accretion towards the right of the figure's head and a further, extremely light spot towards the bottom right-hand corner. There is light undulation and light handling creases scattered in places throughout and a slightly deeper crease in the two top corners. There is a fine tear towards the centre left of the extreme top edge and a further minute tear to the extreme right-hand edge towards the top corner, hidden by the mount. The paper has discoloured slightly, most notably along the left and right edges.
