Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is richer and more vibrant in the original, with brighter oranges throughout and yellows tending more towards warm ochre. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The canvas is slightly slack. There is light wear and associated discolouration to all four corners. There is some light surface dirt along the extreme right edge and a small area of dirt to the lower left corner. There is a further minute media accretion to the right section of the top edge and a vertical 8cm rub mark running from the upper right corner of the composition. The lower left corner tip is worn through and there are some irregularities towards the corner edges of the composition which are the due to shape of the stretcher. There are some paper fibres to the brown impasto in the lower right quadrant. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
