Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is softer in the original with the ochre background tending more towards canary yellow and the reds towards vermillion. Condition: This work is in very good original condition. There are some fine and stable tension cracks in places to the extreme outer edges of the canvas. There are some smudges to the charcoal in places throughout, most visibly to the collages; these are are unobtrusive and inherent to the artist's working process. The collages are variously hinged to the canvas in places to the reverse and undulate slightly. All edges of the collaged paper sheets are deckled with some very light lifting in places to the extreme corner tips. There are some very small and scattered stains in places to the collages, most visibly to the upper right quadrant. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
