Some old casting flaws and general wear. Remainders of gilding. Two small apertures on the base (probably for attachment to socle) are now filled with wax.

The model of the present bronze derives from Michelangelo's marble fig💫ure of Rachel made for the Tomb of Julius II (commissioned in 1505), originally intended for Saint Peter's basilica, and placed in San Pietro in Vincoli by 1545.
