A Jewel-set Enamelled Gold Pendant

Description

of cartouche shape, mounted with a heron, enamelled in white and black, with a frog in its beak, surrounded by flowering plants within an oval wreath with two frogs at the base, all flanked by outcurved columns and set at the top and base with raised table-cut diamonds, the back panel pierced with interlaced scrolled strapwork chased and decorated with white enamel in fine foliate design, with three associated pendant jewels.  The back plate circa 1600, figures and some stones and settings late 19th century, the ring struck with Dutch control mark for foreign work.
