The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This charming painting is very well preserved. The panel is un-reinforced on the reverse and the paint layer is probably slightly dirty, although it is not unattractive as it is. There is a thin crack in the panel in the upper left yet there are no restorations visible under ultraviolet light and it is unlikely that any exist beneath the old varnish.
