Condition
The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This picture is painted on an oak panel which has one join running vertically through the center. The paint layer has been cleaned, varnished and retouched. The sky is slightly abraded and there have been restorations applied throughout the sky to reduce the visibility of the wood grain. The landscape and foreground however, are almost completely un-retouched and are in very healthy condition.
