The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This painting on panel has been recently restored. It is painted on a single piece of oak which is un-reinforced. The panel is flat and the paint layer is stable. Apart from a few dots of retouch in the sheepskin waistcoat of the central figure and in half a dozen tiny spots elsewhere, the picture is un-retouched and in lovely condition. If the frame were to be repaired or replaced, it could be hung as is.
