Condition

The movement is running, however it may require service soon. The dial is very attractive with no visible hairlines to the enamel. The case bears light scuffs throughout. Overall in well-preserved condition. The Extract mentions 'engraving on guilloched back cover.' It is not clear if this refers to the guilloché work itself or an additional engraving, which would not appear to be correct, as the central cartouche is blank.

Watches made by Patek Philippe for the illustrious Brazilian firm ofꦺ Gondolo & Labouriau, such as the the present lot, are always characterized by movements bearing cam-wheel regulators and 9k gold gear train wheels. The central bridge of these Gondolo watches is frequently engraved 'Pat. Jan 13, 1891', which refers to the American patent for this type of wheel-train bridge.
