The movement is running and the chronograph is functioning, however we recommend service soon. The movement is generally very clean, considering the age of the watch. The two-tone effect on the dial is very pronounced with the center finished differently from the outer tracks. There are a few scratches to this central part and the subsidiary dials and a silvered base is showing through. Overall the tracking appears clean and original and in hard enamel. There are a few scratches to the numbering in the pulsemeter scale, particularly at 65. The case shows general wear and appears to have been polished over the years. The gold stamp in the band at 9 o'clock is rubbed, but visible. The inside of the back is in nice condition and the outside of the back is typically scuffed for a watch of this age. The strap of this wristwatch is made from an endangered species; please refer to Important Notices for further information.

This model, Ref. 533, was first produced in 1937. In the succession of Patek Philippe chronographs, 🌊its closest relative is Ref. 130, which was introduced in 1930. Both models have the earlier-style rectangular chronograph pushers and similarly shaped cases. The main distinguishing factor is that the bezel on Ref. 533 is flat, whereas the bezel on Ref. 130 is concave.

The present example is particularly unusual for its exceptional two-tone pink dial✨ and pulsations scale. The standard dial for these models is monochrome aౠnd bears a tachometer scale.

It is interesting to note that the present example was originally sold at Walser Wald, a prominent Patek Philippe retailer located in Buenos Aires. The combination of pink gold case anဣd pink dial on the present lot exemplifies the style of watches made for the South American market.
