Catalogue Note

This model, Ref. 971, the Prince Brancard, was one of the two first Prince modꦍels launched in 1928, along with the classic Prince. It is distinguished by its elegant curvilinear flared sides.

In the 1930s and 1940s, Rolex made a special line of customized Prince watches for T. Eaton & Co., one of Canada's largest department store chains. These iconic watches were given to employees celebrating their 25 🐬years with the firm, thus the '¼ Century Club' dial.

The present lot is engraved: 'Presented to G. A. Moore to mark a quart♋er century of continuous🅠 service with the T. Eaton Co. Limited, 1906-1931'.

Thi🅷s example also features the patented protective cap, a special dust cover🌱 for the movement, which is seldom seen on these models, as they were very often discarded or lost over the years.
