  • A RARE MID-SIZED YELLOW GOLD CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH WITH REGISTER AND TACHOMETERCIRCA 1950 REF 3055 'PICCOLINO'
  • DIAMETER 30 MM
• manual winding nickel lever movement, 17 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance • black dial, gilt printing, applied gilt faceted lozenge indexes and faceted dagger index at 6 o'clock, gilt alpha hands, two engine-turned subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30-minute register, outer tachometer scale • 18k yellow gold case, stepped bezel, two square chronograph pushers to the band, downturned lugs, snap back • case, dial and movement signed  

Condition

The movement is running and chronograph is functioning, however we recommend service. The dial has aged nicely to a grayish-black tone and is spotted throughout, hovever it looks very nice. The signature and printing looks nice and original overall. The case shows general wear with only minor scuffs throughout. There is one scuff to the back from a watch opener and the back has a few light dents in it. The inside of the back is stamped 3055. The gold stamp to the back of the lower right lug is very crisp. The strap of this wristwatch is made from an endangered species; please refer to Important Notices for further information.

Catalogue Note

This model, Ref. 3055, is sometimes referred to ꦑin the market as the 'Piccolino', Italian for 'little one' due to its relatively small size. Its diameter is 30 millimeters, whereas other chronographs from that time period were generally 34 -36 millimeters in diameter.
