Description
- A STAINLESS STEEL CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH WITH REGISTERS AND BRACELET CIRCA 1958 REF 6238 'PRE-DAYTONA'
- DIAMETER 35 MM
• cal. 72B manual winding nickel lever movement, 17 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance, adjusted to three positions • silvered dial, applied dagger indexes, three engine-turned subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour registers • tonneau water-resistant-type case, smooth bezel, two round chronograph pushers in the band, screw-down crown, screw-down case back • case, dial and movement signed • with a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet
Condition
The movement is running, however it may require service soon. The dial has a matte, gray-white finish, with some marks, mostly in and around the subisidiary dials. There is some residue or damage to the finish around the Rolex coronet. The 'Oyster Chronograph' printing seems to be slightly askew compared to the 'Rolex' signature. The case has scuffs throughout, with a ding to the edge of the bezel around 4:30, and more significant signs of wear to the case back. The numbers between the lugs are 6238 and 866211. The inside of the case back is numbered 6238.
